Impact of amassing Money
"Money only appeals to selfishness and always tempts it's owners irresistibly to abuse it. Can anyone imagine Moses, Jesus or Gandhi armed with the money -bags of Carnegie?" These are the famous words by Albert Einstein. But it has been clear that these famous words were said about eighty years back with respect to today's world. Nowadays it is found that money is the greatest problem in life. Money has the power to destroy people. Money doesn't see friends and relatives, it sees only enemies. It can be seen that much of the cases in court are related to money. Money had even made people more dangerous that it made people to kill their close relatives and friends.
Today's world is completely running after money. Every educational institution, office, religious place, etc aim to amass money. Everywhere only the rich are given higher priority. Even laws are being changed to suit the rich. And the poor people are made to suffer everything. A big example to this is that what had happened in Attappadi about three years back. A man named Madhu who is an adivasi had been beaten to death accusing him of theft. The only theft he had done is that he had stolen some food grains due to hunger. Hunger made him do this. But every theft is not considered in the same way. There is difference in the effect of the law between the rich and the poor. An example for it is the Indian businessman Vijay Maliya who had taken crores from the banks and had not returned anything. Even the educational institutions and hospitals try to acquire more money. People with more money are meant to get good education and proper health treatments. The situation is becoming adverse day by day. Money make people to do anything. That's why a lady in Anchal had been killed by her husband.
"No one can serve two masters, for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth". Mathew 6.24 in Bible. Today's world is completely devoted to the wealth. People are even using the religious places for making money. People are even ready to offer good amount to these places to make their life smoother. Money had an important role in creating problems among religions also. If this situation continues it will become a severe problem in future.
Today's generation should keep in mind the words of English writer Kahlil Gibran "Money is like lover; it kills slowly and painfully the one who withholds it, and enlivens the other who turns it on his fellow man".
