Challenge the Change.

 “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Apparently, this quote has no formal introduction, and you may have already figured out who quoted it. You guessed it right. Mahatma Gandhi quoted this. And ofcourse the change of Gandhi had made him Mahatma Gandhi. 

You might be thinking how we can make a change to this world. Changing the world is possible for famous people like Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Theresa. But how can we do that? For that I guess you should know the story of a beautiful lady Chetna Sinha. 


Before that let me ask you something. Do you have a bank account? You might be thinking what happened to this girl. Has she gone mad? Why is she asking like that? Who will be there without a bank account? Well, do you think a person lying on a footpath living by repairing old shoes and bags has a bank account? Or does some beggar have a bank account? No right. For their own betterment, they too wish to save or borrow some money. But unfortunately no bank is ready to take such a risk. The banks don’t even allow these people to take a bank account. There comes the story of Chetna Sinha. She wanted to make a change.  You might be thinking what change an ordinary woman like Chetna can do. 


Chetna opened  Mann Deshi Mahila Sahakari Bank. You might have heard about this bank. This was the first bank for village women in India to get cooperative license from RBI. Chetna noticed that as many people are uneducated and earned very less the banks refused to help them. They were not even allowed to open a bank account. So  one day Chetna met a lady named Kantabai. She is a welder who worked and lived on the footpath in Maharashtra. She wanted to save some money to buy tarpaulin sheets for her home to protect her home from the monsoon. However the banks refused to help her. No banks were ready to allow her to open an account. But Chetna wanted to make a change. That made her set up a bank for women like Kantabai. She taught these women how to open an account, save money and make a betterment in life. And ofcourse this bank is run by women itself. It is a completely member driven and member owned bank. Today the bank is running successfully with 170000 account holders and provided loans for almost 1.5 lakh women in rural Maharashtra. 


This was exactly the quote of Mahatma Gandhi. Be the change. The whole world will be there to support you. All you want to do is just start with the change. All the best. Keep moving. Don’t forget to keep your beautiful smile on your beautiful face. Have a beautiful, enjoyable day.

Unstoppable power of challenges.

 W hile walking through the busy streets, I came to notice a poignant scene. A young woman in her 30’s sitting on the footpath and crafting rose bouquets. Beside her a tiny boy - mostly her son, who took the role of a tiny salesman. The boy approached the people walking by requesting them to buy the flowers. The little innocent face caught their attention, so most of them bought flowers. I joined them as well. This might seem like an ordinary scene in a busy city. But taking a moment and thinking of the scene will help us understand many things. In that moment I realized that the boy was not just selling flowers but in fact he was actually cultivating hard work and resilience in him. I am sure that he can face anything in life since he was trained to overcome challenges in this very young age.   Hellooo Everyone! Today, I want to take you back to your school days. Were you a front bencher or back bencher? You know society often considers the front benchers as the toppers and the backbenchers as the losers. Well I believe in what our former president, Abdul Kalam said, “The best brains of the nation may be found on the last benches of the classroom”. From the experiences and stories that I have heard, I came to know that the front benchers may know how to top the class but the back  benchers often have a  deeper understanding of how to be the real topper of life.
