Unpack your mind !

“Love yourself enough to let go of the people, thoughts, and habits that are weighing you down”. A famous quote by Karen Salmansohn, who is a self-help author and designer. Despite its simplicity, this quote contains a wealth of meaning. I am sure that everyone has something on our mind that keeps us worried, depressed or guilty. But my question is, are you someone who keeps all these things just in your mind and carries this big backpack on your shoulder? When traveling, I like to stuff everything into my backpack. I just stuff all my creams, dresses, books, and a lot more into my pack. And the moment I start walking with this luggage I start complaining that my back is paining badly.

If our back pains this much by holding all our unnecessary stuff, then what is the condition of our mind? Our mind is holding a much bigger weight and that too completely unnecessary. “ Why should I suffer from this pain ?” That should be the question that we should ask ourselves. Sometimes our mind becomes so exhausted and full that it can’t take up anymore things. Also at that time we are not ready to dispose of these things. We just take them with the utmost care and move to another safe location in our mind. Think about why you are keeping all this guilt, failure, pain and all. Why can’t you leave them behind?

Our fear is one main thing that makes our minds over-packed. We are afraid of everything. We are disquieted about our friendships, our relationships, our family and almost everything in life. There's a lot of concern when something happens in a friendship or relationship, whether my friends or partner feel bad about me, how they will take it if I speak to them, or whether they'll slander me. “OVERTHINKING” is the biggest pump to push more pressure into our minds. Once you stop overthinking, much of the weight will be gone from the mind. It is not possible to hold all relationships throughout our life. Some need to be allowed to let go. Then only you can survive. Overpacking with unnecessary people will only destroy you. When you start realizing that they are not meant for you, let them go. Never hold back them.

To release the backpack just talk openly to someone whom you trust and really cares for you. If you don’t have someone like that, then go to a psychologist. They will never judge you by anything. Or I would say, their ethics will never allow them to judge you on any basis. You can open up your mind and cry as much as you need. Crying doesn’t mean you are weak, it is just a mechanism to make you stronger and relieved.

Worrying and holding all this weight in your mind brings you nothing. Down the lane you will only laugh on things which you have badly worried about. That time your worry will be ‘why I actually worried so much at that time. I could have taken it so easily and moved on practically’.  Think about the beautiful things that you had, not the bad ones. Take lessons from the bad ones and move on with your beautiful life. You have yet more waiting to enjoy.

Making a beautiful smile is much better than worrying about unnecessary things in life. So relieve the backpack and enjoy your life without pain. And don’t forget to keep your beautiful smile on your beautiful face. Have a beautiful enjoyable day.
