The Question that shapes your future!

Heyy Everyone. How is your day going?

Today I have come up with a question. Heeyy, wait, wait don’t run away without reading๐Ÿ˜†. I know you will probably be wondering where I get these many questions from. We came for some real motivation and here you are tossing questions at us instead. My Bad Guys(maybe next time I will come with pure motivation……or maybe another question, who knows?๐Ÿ˜œ)
But jokes apart, here is today’s one:

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years ?

Now before you give me the usual answer like “I like to take up higher positions and advance in my career(which I know is great for interviews), I need you to pause.

Do you really in your heart know where you truly want to go? Do you know what you want to do?

I know many of us are just going with the flow. We see what others are doing and follow the same path whether it’s in the case of career, goal, studies, hobbies or it can be anything. But halfway through we realize, wait…I guess this is not what I wanted. Some are brave enough to go back to the starting point and choose the right path. But many stay stuck, thinking what others would say , “What if they think I failed?”, “What if they think I  wasted my time and I am good for nothing”. So they continue the same path and try to adjust and settle for the life they had never been happy with.
The other day I attended a session on imposter syndrome. There were people from France, Romania, UK, Germany and India. It was a small group so people shared their thoughts openly. But soon the discussion took a turn, it was not just about self doubt but also about how people follow the path their parents wanted for them. And I was surprised and shocked to know that everyone is having an experience to talk about that. And everywhere it is the same situation.  It is like a circle. Our grandparents had dreams for our parents, Our parents had dreams for us, and here we are living someone else’s dream.
I truly believe this has to change at least for the next generation. Let our children learn what they love. Encourage them to identify what they love. But before we can do that we need to do it for ourselves first.

So again I am asking you the same question “Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?”.
This time don’t give me the usual copied answer, instead close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Think for some time without any distraction about what you really wanted to do. What would you do if no one judged you? What path would you take?

I am sure you will find an answer. Have the courage to spend your precious time for that. It is never too late to start. You can change your path and do a complete restart now also. So five years from now I want each and everyone of you to say “ this is exactly where I wanted to be and I made it happen”. I have full confidence in you that you will make it happen. Work for it. Don’t be scared. And as always don’t forget to keep your beautiful smile on your beautiful face. Have a good day ๐Ÿ™‚.
